I love to draw and paint and make hand-crafted treasures. As a child, I was often encouraged to draw and paint. Family, friends, and teachers urged me to further my education with an art major. I attended Pasadena City College, Mount San Antonio College, and most recently, Chaffey College. In 1990, I received a State Certificate for Photography through Tri-Community School of Photography. My photographs have won numerous awards. From 1987 through 1993 I was a professional Videographer. I owned and operated Virginia's Videos. I have studied painting and drawing and ceramics under Martha Underwood, Marilynn Evans, Tom Fong, Andre Mahoney, and Bob Smith. Some of the more recent workshops I have attended were conducted by Milford Zornes, Hal Lambert, and Joy Patterson. Although this page deals primarily with watercolor pieces, I also enjoy painting in oils and acrylics. I love to make hand-built ceramics, and to design jewelry. I have won several awards and I have been accepted into numerous local shows. I am an active board member in both Pomona Valley Art Association and Associated Artists of the Inland Empire. In California, my work is currently on display at Gallery SoHo in the Arts Colony in Pomona, at the George M. Gibson Center in Upland, and at the Cuttress Gallery in Pomona. |
